So true, Vidiot. When words are cheaply thrown around, they lose their value. Used to be, when someone was called a Nazi, there was proof and they were ostracized, and rightly so. Now the term is thrown about anytime someone viciously disagrees with anothers ideals. It doesn't mean much. Which is sad, because a whole generation of people will grow up being innocuous to that word. If the movement were to ever gain steam again, they might go on ignored until it was too late. And history repeats itself.

Should calling someone 'Nazi' be made illegal?
by LoveUniHateExams ina rabble-rouser called james goddard and a crowd of pro-brexit people called anna soubry 'nazi' recently.. the same crowd also called owen jones a few names.. i don't know these people but they seem to be unsavory people - they were certainly not behaving themselves.. the met police are looking into the matter, to see if the crowd did anything illegal.
a journalist asked the police officer if calling someone 'nazi' is illegal.
the officer said 'that's what we're looking into'.. first, this crowd behaved badly, no question.. what i find fascinating, though, is the speed of response from authorities.. calling people fascist or nazi has been going on for decades.

Not sure what the laws are in Britain, but here in the U.S. freedom of speech says you can say whatever you like, without fear of reprisal from the government, as any free society should be.(within reason..you cant falsly yell "fire!" In a crowded room, for example) So a person should be able to say whatever they wish. Now that doesn't mean they are free from all reprisal, such as a lawsuit for slander, or a swift punch to the nose.
Name calling is the hallmark of someone who's argument has lost all reason. Basically, if you resort to name calling, you're a punk ass bitch 😉. That said, people need to grow a thicker skin. Sticks and stones...

Funny you say that about texting, tiki. I am the opposite. Would much rather make a call than text. Gets the conversation and reason for contact over much quicker, and less likely to misunderstand a person's intentions when you can hear their voice. (Incidentally I hate voicemail. I despise having to sit through the vm prompts followed by some lengthy message where the caller takes forever to get around to the point and leaves their return number. I've got caller ID, I'll call you back if I want to talk! Triggered 😂🤣) I can usually say what needs to be said much quicker than I can type it...
But I agree that people spend entirely too much time on their phones, distracted, though I dont think it's time talking on them as much as its texting, social media, and surfing the web. The phone's mutli function convenience is such a great innovation and asset, while at the same time being the bane of today's society. Double edged sword.

Artists
by Incognigo Montoya inas a child i naturally inherited an interest in art, drawing and painting to be specific.
being a jw, the paintings and drawings in the literature always caught my eye and piqued my interest.
as i got older, and bettered my artistic abilities, i was often encouraged to put bethel as a goal, though it was family friends more so than my parents who suggested that i should pursue a bethel career, using my artistic skills.

Thanks for sharing dynamite and Giordano! I can relate to much of what you both said. Giordano, sounds like you and your wife were made for each other. Good on you both for following your dreams and making it in the art world. Congratulations on your success! Both of you, if you would, I would love to see your work. Send me a link to a website, or just post up some work. I am also interested in hearing a bit more about your artist advocacy group.

I'm an artist, I completely understand perspective. Perspective horizon is usually higher.
Now, explain to me your perspective. Where does the horizon end? Why has no one found it? Why, in summer at the poles, is the sun visible for 24 hours as it travels a full 360° above the horizon?
For a guy who's studied astrnomy, geography, mechanics, cynematics, quantum physicss you sure are ignorant.

Or you could go with the simple, scientifically proven, accurate, answer: the earth is a sphere...
You simply cannot have the sun setting on the horizon as it does, incrementally advancing as you move west, without the earth being a sphere. You should get out a little more. Get on a plane, fly around to a few different continents, get back with me when you find the edge...
